STEP 1 – ACE THE BASE

Skin that looks naturally healthy is key to mastering a convincing contour. Prep and prime the skin with a good quality primer and foundation to get you started.

STEP 2 – PUCKER UP

Suck in your cheeks and apply powder a shade (or two) darker than your skin tone to the hollows of your cheekbones. Use the angled powder brush and keep blending to create a shadow without any obvious lines. This will slim down the face and bring out those chiseled Cara Delevingne cheekbones.

STEP 3 – LINE AND DEFINE

The contour is often referred to as “the diet for the face” as it gives the illusion of a more defined bone structure. Want a smaller forehead? Apply powder a shade darker than your foundation along the hairline and blend upwards into the hair. Want to make that nose narrower? Apply a line of dark powder either side of the nose and blend, blend, blend! Define that jaw? Apply right along the jawline using the a Flat Top Buffer brush, blend your contour with precision for a seamless look that will ensure your selfie game is forever strong.

STEP 4 – BE THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT

The perfect contour isn’t complete without a good highlight! Use a soft highlighter shade on the top of the cheekbones, under the eyes and on the cupids bow. Then lightly apply the shimmery highlight over the areas mentioned, down the middle of your nose and across the brow bone. The shimmer can draw attention to your favourite features, but remember less is more when highlighting (think more Golden Goddess and less Tin Man).

STEP 5 – MAKE THEM BLUSH

To help finish off the look apply blusher to the apple of the cheeks and blend out towards the temples. Blusher can either look flat or flattering, so be sure to pick the right shade for your skin tone.

STEP 6 – SEAL THE DEAL

Using a large powder brush apply a translucent setting powder all over to keep your face contoured to perfection all night long.
